At Roomex we’re lucky enough to be able to offer employees the chance to work remotely. However, we understand that our clients cannot operate from behind a desk. That’s why we’ve made sustainable business travel a cornerstone of our values. For businesses who need to find accommodation while their workforce is on the road, we offer automatic carbon reporting to help them track and reduce their emissions. We’re also finding new ways of helping the collective Roomex community to achieve carbon neutral workforce travel.
Reforestation is a critical component of the fight against climate change. Currently, the Earth’s forests and soil absorb around 30% of carbon emissions from the atmosphere.
That’s why we’ve made a commitment that for every 100 hotel bookings made on the Roomex platform, we will plant a tree with OneTreePlanted, an official partner of the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration (2021-2030).
So far, we’ve planted enough trees to cover 10 acres of land. While it’s only a start, with your help we can deliver real world impact through forest restoration.

If our employees do need to travel into work, we still take every step we can to operate in a sustainable manner. This includes using compostable products, clearly marked recycling bins and support for employees who want to travel more sustainably. We offer environmentally friendly initiatives like the Bike to Work and Taxsaver schemes, encouraging employees to cycle and use public transportation where possible.
Sustainability is an ongoing process of adaptation and improvement. We are always looking for ways that we can advance our sustainability initiatives, this includes listening to our employees’ feedback and conducting industry standard surveys and analysis on our existing activities to ensure that we are doing all we can.
